College of Engineering Kallooppara offers three degree programs (B. Tech) of 4 years duration.

  • Computer Science and Engineering (CS)
  • Electronics and Communication Engineering (EC)
  • Information Technology (IT)

 

Apart from these regular professional courses in the above four branches of engineering, the students are trained in various self enhancement programs, like personality development, spoken English, communication skills etc…..

ADMISSION

NO. OF SEATS(INTAKE)   : 60 PER YEAR FOR EACH COURSE(CS/EC/IT)
MERIT QUOTA                  : 30 SEATS(50%)
MANAGEMENT QUOTA     : 21 SEATS(35%)
NRI QUOTA                      : 9 SEATS(15%)

** In addition to this 6 seats in each branch are reserved for Tution Fee Waiver Scheme as per AICTE directions (Allotment done by    Commissioner for Entrance examinations).

COLLEGE CODE : PTA (For allotment of seats under merit and management quota by Commissioner for Entrance Examinations)

ELIGIBILITY : Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala , or Examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Mathematics seperately, and 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together are eligible for admission.

AGE : Applicant should complete 17 years of age as on 31-12-2011. No relaxation in the minimum age will be allowed. There is no upper age limit.

MODE OF ADMISSION & FEES  : Out of the 180 seats (60 Per Course), 50% of the seats (90 seats-30 per course) are merit seats(Govt. Fees seats - Fees decided by the Government) filled by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Kerala from the ranklist prepared from Common Entrance Test conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance examinations.

35% seats are Management Quota seats (Full fees seats- fees decided by fee regulatory committee appointed by Government) filled by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Kerala from ranklist prepared from Common Entrance Test conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance examinations.

The remaining 15% seats are NRI(Non-Resident Indian)seats filled by the College from the ranklist prepared on the basis of Higher Secondary Marks (Selection criteria prescribed by Goverment/IHRD) from applications invited through newspaper columns.

EVALUATION :We practice Continuous Internal Assessment (CIA) of students through class works, periodical quizzes, tests, tutorials, laboratory works, projects etc; which in turn provide constant feedback to students. The outreach programmes help students to discover themselves better than through the classrooms interaction. Aptitude for professional judgement, decision making, initiative, leadership, sense of responsibility and inter-disciplinary approach are included through the extension programmes.

EXAMINATION

Internal Examination : The Internal Examinations will be conducted as per the guidelines of CUSAT. For all theory papers there will be Two Series Examinations. Sessional Marks(total 50 marks) will be awarded on the basis of performance in the series examinations , Assignments and attendance. The division of marks will be as given below.

1. Series Examinations     - 25 Marks(Equal weightage for two series examinations)

2. Assignments               - 15 Marks(Two to five Assignments)

3. Attendance                 - 10 Marks

University Examination : University Examinations will be conducted at the end of each semesters except at the first year in which there will be combined examinations for Semester I & II. A minimum of 75% attendance for each subject is mandatory for appearing University examinations. For more details see the Examination Manual of CUSAT
