The Institution

           Government of Kerala established the College of Engineering Kallooppara (CEK) under the aegis of the Institute of Human Resources Development (IHRD), in the year 1999. CEK is located in the rural village of Kallooppara in Mallappally Taluk, which lies in western part of hilly terrain Pathanamthitta District- the youngest  district of Kerala. The scenic and eco friendly campus spread over in 25 acres provides a serene atmosphere conducive to learning. The basic academic philosophy of the Institution is to offer premier professional training with an eye on the modern developments in Electronics and Information Technology. The institution secured Second position in pass percentage of Cochin University Science & Technology B. Tech 2016 April examination and was maintaining a healthy pass percentage in the previous years. The institution is approved by AICTE and is affiliated to the APJ ABDUL KALAM TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY(KTU).

 

The faculty is talented and young and full of enthusiasm who really take care of the needs of the students. Student community of CEK is vibrant, focused on studies, and constructive and drawn from all over Kerala. CEK tries to impart excellent education and contribute to nation building by bringing out capable and competent students. Since being located in a rural area, the institution has the advantage of pollution free campus, nonpolitical, a greater scope for community service catering to the needs of the rural population around CEK. An ample number of students in CEK belong to rural area, hence able to study and live in an atmosphere that doesn't induce any feeling of alienation. It has also created greater rural development and its empowerment in this area.   The college has implemented various skill development programs for women in the village, as part of the women empowerment scheme of the Government of Kerala. Through this program, the women were trained for starting new jobs in the field of electronics and computer maintenance and servicing. It has also conducted many advanced courses for training the masters for Additional Skill Acquisition Programme (ASAP) - under the Department of Higher Education, Government of Kerala.

 

          CEK offers Undergraduate Engineering programs in Electronics & Communication, Computer Science and Engineering, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Postgraduate Programs in Electronics with specialization in Signal Processing and in Computer Science with specialization in Cyber Forensics and Information Security
